  New Year's Eve in Spain How do they greet a New Year in Spain?  New Year's Eve ( Nochevieja ) is a special night for everybody. The Spaniards are a nation that is undoubtedly able to celebrate. A New Year's Eve party lasts until dawn. Everything starts with a family dinner. The table is abundant in many dishes with a significant prevalence of seafood. After the supper everyone is attending to New Year's parties with friends and families. After the New Year's Eve party, it's necessary to eat churros with chocolate in the morning.  The best-known Spanish New Year's Eve celebration is eating 12 grapes to the beats of the clock striking midnight. With each hit you should eat one grape, which is to ensure good luck in the New Year. This tradition came from Alicante in 1909. The winemakers enjoyed very good harvests at the time. Christmas time in Spain

Christmas time in Spain  Have you ever wondered how do people spend Christmas in other countries? In Spain, there is a traditional calendar of holidays, similar to that in Poland, so they also celebrate the Navidad , or Christmas Day. However, it is a completely different festival than the one celebrated in our country. First of all, there's much more joy and public celebrations on the streets. Just two days before Christmas Eve, there is a great Christmas lottery , during which large sums of money are drawn. Most Spaniards try to buy a lot so that they do not miss their opportunity.  People in Spain also recognize the Christmas tree as a Christmas symbol, but they use other symbols more often. A tree is rarely appearing in people's houses. There are also no Christmas gifts, as it is in the Polish tradition. Children receive their gifts only on the Epiphany, Los Reyes Magos , which is a few days after the New Year. Christmas ends with a parade on that day. Would
