Polish apples can be sold in Colombia





Colombia is another country to which Poland can export apples, the Ministry of Agriculture said it. After difficult negotiations, both sides reached an agreement. The Colombian Institute of Agriculture has published on its website import requirements for Polish apples. There was also an appropriate message on the website of the Polish Ministry of Agriculture.

Agreement reached regarding the sale of apples from the production of 2019 on the local market through related and meeting the import requirements of Colombia.

Detailed information on export conditions and formalities, as well as an updated entry to the offer are provided by the local units of the State Plant Health and Seed Inspection Service.

Poland is the most important apple program in Europe. This year, the CSO has initially estimated the harvest at about 3 million tons; about 25% less than the record apple production in 2018. In the 2018/2019 season, export of the these fruits covered by 1 million 450 thousand ton. 

Poland is one of the largest producers and exporters of apple concentrate.

Apple consumption in Poland is decreasing equally. In 2014, we ate 14 kg of fruit on average per year, and in 2017- already 12 kg.
