Socialists won the elections in
Spain.
Socialists (PSOE) triumph on the
Iberian Peninsula. The Spanish Socialist
Workers' Party (Spanish:
Partido Socialista Obrero Español) won the Sunday parliamentary elections in Spain.
Second place was taken by People's
Party (Spanish: Partido Popular).
The third party of the new Congress of Deputies will be the liberal party Citizens (Spanish: Ciudadanos).
For the first time since the fall of Frankist in the 1970s, the Spanish
right-wing Congress of Deputies was joined by the far-right party, Vox.
The next Sunday's elections were marked by separatist groups from
Catalonia: the Republican Left of
Catalonia (ERC) and Total for
Catalonia (JxCAT).
The new Congress of Deputies will also include 11 politicians from Basque
separatist groups: the Basque
Nationalist Party (PNV) and EH Bild.
According to information from the State Electoral Commission in Madrid, the
turnout in the Sunday elections in Spain exceeded
73%, which means that it was by 7 percentage points higher than in the
last elections.
Among the main priorities of his cabinet after the election Sanchez
mentioned the fight for eliminating disputes in Spain, equalizing the opportunities
of the inhabitants of the country, as well as combating corruption.
