Spanish Affair, the movie

 Spanish Affair, the movie

Do you feel like improving your mood?

I suggest that you watch a comedy "Spanish affair" (esp. Ocho apellidos vascos), which is a satire by Emilio Martínez-Lázaro who multiplies every possible stereotype about the Basques and Andalusians - two extremely different autonomous communities in Spain. And we have to admit that he does it in such a grateful and witty way that it's hard not to pick up the movie as an instructive tolerance lesson. Still, it is worth knowing a bit of basic information about the Spaniards to better understand the story.

The plot: The native citizen of Sevilla, Rafael, has never left Andalusia before. The man, however, sets out to the unknown following the Basque girl, quite different from the women he previously knew.

The film features: Clara Lago, Dani Rovira, Carmen Machi, Karra Elejade.

 I highly recommend this movie!

Spanish cuisine

I love spanish cooking and the fact that its based on natural ingriedients. I love its astonishing aroma, colorfulness and most of all, its taste. The spanish cuisine was shaped through influences from many different regions. The ones that had the most influence were Arabic, English, French and Mexican. It doesn't posses a uniform way of preparing dishes, because each of the regions takes pride in its very own, spectacular dish. Differences are greatly influenced by the proximity of the Mediterranean sea, tradition or history connected with the region. It is a colorful cuisine, that uses an abundant amount of fruits and vegetables as well as fish and seafood. The richness of its flavor is due to the use of herbs. The Mediterranean climate has a positive effect on the cultivation of many vegetables and fruits, which, thanks to the presence of the Spanish sun, gain a unique taste. Spain is famous for its rich tradition of distinctive products, dried hams and the preparation of

Contratiempo, movie

A brilliant thriller that I would recommend to anyone who likes movies in such a climate. What deserves special attention, aside from fictional swirls, is the disturbing atmosphere of the thriller. Copious amounts of plot twists can confuse the viewer in a matter of minutes. Once the viewer thinks he is following the plot, a sudden detail shows up and destroys all of his assumptions. While watching the movie "Contratiempo", one must be vigilant, as it is easy to miss an important detail that may affect later understanding of the motivations of individual heroes. Young businessman Adrián (Mario Casas) wakes up in a hotel room next to his dead lover. Afterwards he decides to hire one of the best attorneys to tell her his course of events, in which, he claims that the murder was commited by a different man. Adrián's retrospections are the backbone of the whole story. The hero stubbornly tries to deduce an alternative version of the events. The woman interviewing
