Historical
TV series: Isabel
From
2012 to 2014, Spanish television was broadcasting a wonderful series
"Isabel", based on the life of Queen Isabel of Castile (Catholic).
The creators presented Isabel's whole life, from childhood to death. They also focused
on her private life, and while doing so, the viewers could follow Isabel's life
full of success as a queen and full of suffering as a woman. The famous Queen
Isabel is an example of a woman who decided on her future, became a queen,
rebuilt and enriched her kingdom, introduced the Inquisition, expelled the Jews
from the peninsula and explored the New World with the help of Christopher
Columbus. Viewers could also see the private life of the queen, who was a
mother to five children and a wife to equally famous Ferdinand II of Aragon.
The TV series is distinguished by beautiful music created by Federico Jusid.
The story consists of 3 seasons and 39 episodes directed by Jordi Frades. The
Catholic Kings are portrayed by Michelle Jenner (Isabel) and Rodolfo Sancho
(Ferdinand). It is worth noting that the TV show was extremely popular even
outside of Spain and that it won many awards.
