Flamenco

Flamenco - a cultural phenomenon, related to the folklore of Andalusian Gypsies, that includes music, songs, dance, costumes and behavior. It's tradition comes from Andalusia, and it's performence can be seen there even today. In 2010 flamenco was inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.  What's flamenco about? By dancing, a performer tells a story. In flamenco, body movements and gestures express certain emotional states of the dancer or emphasize the meaning of the words and character of the melody that accompanies them. It is a dance performed solo, in a duet, in a group or consists of subsequent "solos" performed by individual dancers. Music is mainly performed on the guitar. From the point of view of the nature of performed music, we can distinguish the following types of flamenco: cante jondo, cante intermedio, cante chico.  Have you ever seen this type of dancing? Do you like it?

Loving Pablo, movie

Loving Pablo, movie  Loving Pablo, hating Escobar: New biographical drama about one of the largest drug barons has recently appeared on screens of Polish cinemas. The history of Pablo Escobar has long been a significant component of pop culture.  In the movie we will see Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem . Despite the good cast, the movie unfortunately saddened me. The film brings nothing new to a known biography. I had high hopes for the creators, believing that they would develop less-known threds or present   Escobar's history from a whole new point of view. This matter brought me nothing but disappointment. I also believe that the movie lost its charm and climate by introducing English dialogues. The story of the relationship between the most powerful drug baron, Pablo Escobar and a Colombian anchorman, Virginia Valejo . Virginia Vallejo tells about Pablo Escobar in the book "Loving Pablo, Hating Escobar" , on the basis of which Fernando León de Aranoa ...

Frida, movie

Frida is a movie that, in one sentence, could be described as sensual, imbued with Mexican folklore and the bohemian climate of the 1920s. The movie itself is a portrait of a fascinating painter, feminist and provocateur - the great Frida Kahlo . The plot isn't only about her career, but also a complicated relationship with her husband, also a painter, the famous Diego Rivera.  Frida is a biographical film from 2002, directed by Julie Taymor, telling the story of the life of the famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo.The script was written on the basis of Hayden Herrera Frida's book: A Biography of Frida Kahlo .  The main roles of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera were portrayed by Salma Hayek and Alfred Molina. The film was awarded with two Oscars and a Golden Globe.
